Lady Saw releases "Money Man" and beats controversy @TheRealLadySaw @madness1616
Lady Saw releases “Money Man” a specially edited and even revoiced version of “Scamma” suitable for Jamaican radio. The song “Scamma” caused a lot of controversy. Eventually even leading to the song being sidelined by some Jamaican radio DJ’s who believed the song was too controversial for the public.
Because of lyrics such as, “Mi want a scamma man from Mobay. Cah mi hear sey dem money set a way, mi woulda gi him my body every day cah mi know sey money afi pay”, the producers of the song Digital Vibez Entertainment, claim that radio wants no part in its promotion.

Chronixx deemed "Ungrateful"
Chronixx was in the line of fire last week for his ‘waste man’ comment that was supposedly aimed at United States President Barack Obama, and this week he is being blasted by veteran dancer Patsy Ricketts, who says he is ungrateful.
Ricketts is the mother of reggae singer J.O.E (also known as Lil Joe), who passed away in 2011. Chronixx’s connection to J.O.E can be heard in Warrior when he sang, “Jah ova evil, sword inna hand” as ‘Jah Ova Evil’ is what J.O.E said was the definition of his stage name.
But Ricketts was not mincing words on Tuesday, when she took to Facebook describing Chronixx as ungrateful.
“My son Alty George Nunes also known as Jah Ova Evil (J.O.E) passed in 2011. Soon after he passed, Chronixx came into our lives, he actually slept in my son’s bed and stayed with us for about two years. From there, he worked on his hits Behind Curtain, Warrior and even his recent hit Spirulina. We had frequent reasonings about Rastafari, which he seldom agreed on, but we decided to put our energy into him because we saw the talent,” Ricketts said on her Facebook page.
“I will not forget the night when our youths started posting posters of Chronixx on light posts, we blogged on the Internet for him. in general, we pushed him forward. He obviously decided that he had used us enough and has never turned back to even say thank you, now who is the waste man.”
As a rastafarian, Ricketts also stressed that she does not want Chronixx to advocate on her behalf.
“We at Jah Ova Evil have completely disassociated ourselves from this young man. I do not wish for him to be an advocate for me as a Rastafarian or as a Jamaican because in order for one to be a good ambassador one has to take a page from His Imperial Majesty’s book, e.g being a good diplomat which simply means choosing your words wisely,” she said.
However, when THE STAR tried to get Chronixx’s side of the story, a representative from his camp did not wish to comment.
“You can contact Patsy Ricketts, but Chronixx does not wish to follow up on that,” he said.
Last week, Chronixx was blasted for comments he made on social media where it appeared that he called Obama a ‘waste man’.
Following Obama’s visit to Jamaica, Chronixx posted a picture of Marcus Garvey on social media platform, Instagram, with a caption that said, “This man … Still have criminal record in the United States and we glorifying some waste man! This man was hunted and imprisoned by our Jamaican government … who some years later, paved a peaceful and safe path for the US president to address is a … “race of good for nothings”. That’s why black faces don’t mean anything to rasta anymore.”
However, the post did not go down well with some persons and was subsequently removed.

Record company boss sentenced to life in jail
The CEO of 21st Hapilos Digital Distribution, Kevin Reynolds, has been sentenced to life in prison, plus an additional 20 years for the 2002 murder of a man in Maryland, United States.
Following his conviction in January, Reynolds was yesterday sentenced to life for first degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder, and an additional 20-year sentence for the use of a handgun in the commission of a felony at the Montgomery County court, according to WUSA9 TV, a tv station that covers news in Washington DC, Suburban Maryland, and Northern Virginia.
According to the station’s website, Reynolds was given the life sentence for the November 2002 murder of Wesley King. Reports are that Reynolds travelled from New York to Maryland to shoot King over drug money.
It is said that when Reynolds got to the apartment where King lived, King was shot by Reynolds in front of his 11 year-old daughter. Between the time of the murder and April 2014, when he was arrested, Reynolds got a new passport and went by the name Dennis Graham, and was also the CEO of 21st Hapilos Digital Distribution, a distribution company for dancehall and reggae music.
“When a defendant kills a man in front of his 11-year-old daughter, he deserves to pay a very high price for his crime,” the Montgomery County State’s Attorney, John J McCarthy said.
“Twelve years and a music empire later, the long arm of the law caught up with Dennis Graham, a.k.a. Kevin ‘Clement’ Reynolds.”
